National Night Out

Echo has been participating in National Night Out since 2005. As a small community of about 1000 people, including the surrounding rural area, the town only has need for one gathering. So each August, residents aging from newborn to 80-plus-years-old gather in the city’s George Park for hotdogs, chips, cookies, games and more.

The city and donors split the bill, so there is no cost to residents. Door prizes are provided for each attendee and larger prizes such as DVD Players are awarded through a free raffle. Winners of the annual America in Bloom Beautification Contest are announced and awarded prizes. National Night Out attendance has been consistently between 220 and 250 for the last few years.
