City Council Vacancy

Home > News and Events

The City of Echo will be accepting applications for an opening on the City Council resulting from the resignation of the late Lou Nakapalau. Applications will be accepted through Thursday, March 8. Application forms may be picked up at City Hall at 20 S. Bonanza.

Applicants will need to attest that they are, and have been, a resident of Echo (you must reside within the Echo city limits) for at least one year. Applicants must be a registered voter for the City of Echo precinct.

Anyone serving on the city council will be required to file an annual financial report with the Oregon Ethics Commission listing all sources of income for the entire household. This is an open public record.

The Council may interview applicants. Council members are not paid. The position will be by appointment until December 31, 2018. If you want to stay on the council, you will have to file a petition to get on the ballot in late August and with voting in the November general election.
